New River Turkey Brook. Location: North of the London Loop path, near Turkey Street, north London. Description: Water splashes from a drain into the Turkey Brook where it runs in a channel by the New River. Date: 3 September 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Maidens Bridge. Location: Near Maiden's Bridge, west of Turkey Street, north London. Description: Sound of part of the New River rushing along a covered culvert, recorded above an opening set in the ground. Date: 3 September 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Hoe Lane. Location: By Hoe Lane, near Forty Hill, north London. Description: Magpies chatter in trees close by, indistinct voices of passersby on Hoe Lane, traffic, airplane drone towards end. Date: 3 September 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Enfield Town Park. Location: West side of Town Park, Enfield, north London. Description: Voices of people leaving Town Park, hum of fairground ride generators, distant traffic. Date: 3 September 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Winchmore Hill. Location: By the Paulin cricket ground, Winchmore Hill, north London. Description: Distant traffic, faint birdsong, voices of cricketers in the Paulin ground, the batsman hits a ball. Date: 3 September 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Palmers Green. Location: Immediately north of Oakthorpe Road, Palmers Green, north London. Description: Traffic, children play outside a small mosque, birdsong, airplane drone, in a back garden a mastiff begins barking. Date: 3 September 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Hornsey Depot. Location: On the New River path by Hornsey train depot, north London. Description: Distant traffic, faint sound of the breeze stirring leaves on trees, a train passes and sounds its horn. Date: 27 August 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Harringay Ladder. Location: Duckett Road, Harringay, north London. Description: Quiet ambience in a residential street with traffic passing along Wightman Road to the west, faint birdsong. Date: 27 August 2011. Duration: 1:00.

New River Seven Sisters Bridge. Location: By Seven Sisters Bridge near junction with Amhurst Park, Stamford Hill, north London. Description: Loud traffic from Amhurst Park and Seven Sisters Road, deep noise of water churning and bubbling in a covered culvert feeding into the New River. Date: 27 August 2011. Duration: 1:00.
