Sound recordings featuring Longford and Heathrow

TQ 0458 7688. Location: OS grid reference TQ 0458 7688, a water-filled gravel pit south of the Colnebrook bypass. The point was unreachable, and the recording was made from the Colne Valley Greenway footpath, about 300 yards due north. Description: An aeroplane passes a few hundred feet up on its way to land at Heathrow. Continuous sound of jet engines from the airport, traffic noise from the Colnebrook bypass, and faint birdsong. Duration: 1:00. Recorded by: IM Rawes. Recording date: 30 May 2009. Time of day: 11.20am.
