Street cries of the world

Street cries were once a popular subject of songs and literature in Britain, continental Europe and elsewhere. Each month from 2018 onwards I'll be scanning and transcribing publications to build this collection.

RITRATTO DI QUELLI CHE VANNO VENDENDO ET LAVORANDO PER ROMA

This sheet of 189 tiny portraits was printed in 1582 by the Milanese engraver and cartographer Ambrogio Brambilla. The short title is Ritratto di Quelli che Vanno Vendendo et Lavorando per Roma or ‘Portrait of those who go selling and working for Rome’.
